Since the early 15th century, the Rödelsee Jewish cemetery has been the central burial place for Jewish families from 18 towns in the wider area: Dettelbach, Großlangheim, Hohenfeld, Hüttenheim, Kitzingen, Kleinlangheim, Mainbernheim, Mainstockheim, Marktbreit, Marktsteft, Mönchsondheim, Obernbreit, Rödelsee, Sickerhausen, Segnitz, Sommerach, Sommerhausen and Wiesenbronn.
Now the cemetery and these communities are to be linked with a large-scale 'knowledge and mediation network'. The ultimate aim is to create a cultural trail 'On Jewish traces through the Kitzinger Land' with the Rödelsee cemetery at its center.
